Home is where you pitch your tent…

Home is where you pitch your tent…

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
2 Cor. 12:9, 10

Paul said that he would rather boast in his weakness, that the power of Christ may rest on him… That word “rest” means to FIX A TENT, to take possession of, to TENT UPON”. Paul is telling us that when you acknowledge God in your life, especially when you feel weak, powerless, without strength, then the power of Christ will TENT upon you, take possession of you! And this is the place where we truly want to live from, which we call home. Not one of weakness but rather from the power of Christ which rests upon us!

There once was a missionary from a persecuted nation who visited South Africa. He enjoyed the freedom to freely share powerful testimonies in different churches all around the country. He shared about the way God was moving in the nation where he was from, where people are literally losing their lives for the gospel. Toward the end of his stay, he could hardly wait to return to his people. He was asked why he would not rather stay longer in South Africa where he can openly talk about Jesus without fear of persecution? His reply was that he was longing to experience God again the way he was used to in his own country. God seemed much “closer” there amongst all the persecution. He knew what it was like LIVING from that place where God’s strength is made perfect in weakness.

For when we are weak, then we are strong!
