Get into your second temple – Let Go, Let God!

Get into your second temple – Let Go, Let God!

How can you truly access and walk in your God-ordained calling and purpose?  The Bible tells us of Solomon’s temple, the first temple, which was destroyed by the Neo-Babylonian empire when Jerusalem was conquered, and part of the population of the Kingdom of Judah was

Heidi Baker once said, “More is accomplished by spending time in God’s Presence than by doing anything else.” Easy for a missionary to say, right? As you know, on this blog it’s all about worshipping Jesus, its all about Him. Today I felt a nudge

Sunflower seasons…

Sunflower seasons…

I posted this word today on Surrender Ministries Facebook page on “Word for today” and felt led to share it on the blog as well – for those of you who are not on facebook (which is not a bad thing at all 😉 ).

This morning God showed me a picture of sunflowers following the sun. Did you know that sunflowers follow the sun from where it rises in the east until it sets in the west?

This was taken from an article written by Merrit Kennedy:
“A young flower faces east at dawn and greets the sun, then slowly turns west as the sun moves across the sky. During the night, it slowly turns back east to begin the cycle again. The researchers found that the plant’s turning is actually a result of different sides of the stem elongating at different times of the day.”

How interesting is that?! If we look at the Biblical symbolic, then we think of having our eyes only on God, focused on Jesus. Jesus Himself said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He SEES the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.” So much more for us! How many decisions and every-day choices do we make without checking with God. If Jesus could do NOTHING of Himself, why do we seem to think we can? May Holy Spirit remind us when we face decisions to turn our eyes to God and see what is He doing. Is.55:12a “For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace;…” Col.3:15 “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.” Invite Holy Spirit today into your decision making and when you do not feel that “Peace” in your heart about a decision it will either mean “wait” or “don’t”.

Interesting about the sunflower stems though: the one side of the stem elongates during the day while following the sun and at night it knows to move back (elongating the other side of the stem this time) from the west to the east until the sun rises in the east again. Similarly in our journey with God, we are constantly growing but we NEED TO KEEP OUR EYES ON HIM AND MOVE WHEN HE MOVES and when we are in a “dark season” – eg. difficult challenges/being stretched/feeling like all prayers hit against the ceiling/ God seems distant – to keep seeking Him with all our hearts because in the “dark seasons”, just like in the case of the sunflowers, we grow in other areas which we do not exercise in the “lighter seasons”. Seasons come and seasons go but one thing is for sure, when keeping our eyes focused on God “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith”(Heb.12:2), we need all of the seasons to grow and mature and to live in the fullness that God has planned for us!!

Rom.8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”

And so 2018 is at its end. Praising and thanking God this morning for this year, that even though it was busy, tough, filled with new adventures as well as difficult challenges – we made it! Yes, that includes you reading this right now too. My heart sings out “thank You, thank You, thank You Jesus!!” and while doing this, God showed me two pictures, to sum up this year…They are of two old South African adds in which fuel is advertised. Take a look…

Matt.18:2,3 “Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. “

During this past year, we came to God as children, learning to be patient and sometimes not understanding what is happening. Why is God allowing certain things? But yet we are like children with limited understanding, children of an awesome God. “Playing” in His kingdom. We add His Holy Spirit “fuel” to our lives and suddenly BOOM!! The supernatural starts happening.
“The supernatural is the natural not yet understood.” – Elbert Hubbard

You might feel like your Hope has been broken this year, your Faith got stolen, your Love for other people got hurt – well get ready child of God, keep approaching Him as His child, even when others try to tell you otherwise. Keep your relationship simple with God. Keep “playing” patiently in His Presence, enjoying Him and the warmth of His Love over you and soon, I sense even in this new year approaching, BOOM! Hope, Faith and Love will start manifesting supernaturally in your life. It will be given to you and you won’t be able to explain it, it will just be there !!
Holy Spirit in you is POWERFUL! You have not seen it fully displayed yet, but soon we are going to start seeing sparks of it in our lives. Romans 8:11 “ But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

I don’t feel He is leading me right now to pray or write about the new year. For now, we celebrate 2018. What He has done, how He has carried us through and the Hope of what’s to come! He is a good good Father, that’s Who He is. And we are loved by Him, that’s who we are!
2 Cor.6:18 “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters”, says the Lord Almighty.”

Be patient and possess your soul. Be still!

Be patient and possess your soul. Be still!

I really feel this is a word in season at the moment. In Luke 21 Jesus is speaking about the “The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age” and He is saying not to fear when we hear of wars and commotions

Ezekiel, a river and a burning bush!

Ezekiel, a river and a burning bush!

I specifically felt the Holy Spirit lead me to share this word with you today… “If God speaks through burning bushes, let’s burn bush and listen to what God says.” – Lorrie Moore In Ezekiel 1:1 we read “In my thirtieth year, in the fourth

A house divided can not stand…

A house divided can not stand…

Be sure to put your feet in the right place, then stand firm.” Abraham Lincoln

So today’s post is a seriously chewy and tough piece of biltong and might challenge us a little …This is something I felt God press on my heart recently.

In Luke 11:14–23 Jesus cast out a demon who was mute. The multitudes marveled at this but some of the people accused Him of casting out demons by Beelzebub, who is the ruler of the demons. Some, testing Him, asked for a sign from heaven. Jesus, knowing their thoughts, replied to this by saying that “every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.”

Jesus goes on to give the example “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger (man) than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.” And then Jesus ends off by saying “He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.”

The Bible tells us in Phil.2:9-11 that the Name of Jesus is above every other name, that in Jesus Name EVERY knee shall bow and EVERY tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. He has the victory. Eph.1 tells us that His power is “far above all principality and powers and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.” So there will be no “stronger man” to come upon Jesus and overcome Him, taking all of his armor and dividing His spoils. Agreed?!

So here we have questions to seriously consider…

In what or who do we put our trust?

Who or what is our security? Or…

Maybe the real question is rather – what or who do we live for?

We say we live for God. Right? Maybe we answered that question a little too quick. Is this really true?

Let’s see…when we make decisions with regards to our health, home, security, insurance, family, business, personal life and every other aspect of our lives, do we prayerfully involve Jesus and make decisions according to His leading and in obedience? We might say, “well, now that would be a little too spiritual” to which the answer is “what does ‘too spiritual’ even mean??”. If our Father is Spirit, can one ever be “too spiritual”?? We need to WANT to be more and more spiritual in our everyday walk. Ever think of the fact that our Daddy is the Creator of the Universe, He is Spirit, sees and knows everything, is everywhere, loves us since before we were born, has specific plans for our lives, is far greater than all principality and powers, etc.?

In Luk.16:13 Jesus tells us that no servant can serve two masters; “for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other…”.

I am going to be bold by quoting something that Saul Alinsky once said but I feel I just have to because there is much truth in it: “The classic statement on polarization comes from Christ – ‘He that is not with Me is against Me,’(Luk.11:23) Jesus allowed no middle ground to the moneychangers in the Temple. One acts decisively only in the conviction that all the angels are on one side and all the devils on the other.”

Maybe this is something we need to think about some more…What or Who do we really live for? Because there can only be one. If our choice is God, then once we make that choice and wholeheartedly so, its no more compromise. Only God can help us do this. All we need to do is truly invite Him into our everyday! He is a good Father and He is faithful.

Billy Graham once said “My home is in heaven. I’m just traveling through this world”.

Rev.3:21 “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.”

“…he who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.”

Parables and a Fig tree – it helps to be “fat”!

There are three scriptures that God used to speak to me recently and all three was very interesting and came down to one extremely important topic: Intimacy with God. Do you know that we were first of all created to have fellowship with Him? As
