The power of the Word of God!
Is. 55:10-11 “For as the rain come down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
What a beautiful analogy God is giving us to help us understand the power of His Word. As we read this verse we can almost see the rain drenching everything in its path and the snowflakes gently floating on a breeze and eventually landing on a leaf or on the grass. How the wet earth in time yields plants and from it seeds which, in turn, is used to bake fresh bread for us to eat. You can almost smell that fresh loaf of bread straight from the oven! He compares this rain and snow with His Word. That just like the rain and snow cannot return to heaven, His Word when spoken cannot return to Him without accomplishing what it was sent for. That it shall accomplish His will, but not only that, it shall also prosper in what it was sent to do.
The prophetic word for this year encourages us to receive whatever word God has spoken over our lives and to stand on it. To keep declaring His Truth over ourselves and our families, keeping in mind that “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” Num.23:19
The Word of God does not leave us untouched or unchanged. It is alive, it is the Truth and it is our Sword. To be “drenched” with the Word of God and soaking in it daily has some serious eternal kingdom results!
Ps.19:7-11 “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover, by them your servant is warned; and in keeping them there is great reward.”
